Stormers Lock To Lead Junior Boks In France

Salmaan Moerat is going to lead a squad of Junior Springbok featuring seven players who took part in the U20 Championship World Rugby last year, in the south of France, from May 30 to June 17.

Moerat, who has established himself as a captain for the SA Schools team in the year 2016, will have the clear support of Wandisile Simelane, Damian Willemse, Muller Uys, Rewan Kruger, Daniel Jooste and Gianni Lombard. France Rugby Team Qualify For Youth Olympic Games

France is crowned by Rugby Europe U18s girls’ team  sevens champions and as a result, the team qualifies for the Youth Olympic Games, which is going to take place in Buenos Aires later this year.

The future of French sevens rugby, women’s team appears to be in bad health after the team of U18 were crowned the European champions on home soil in Vichy at the weekend. The team registered the superb 22-0 win over number one seeds Great Britain. This has also presented the opportunity for finest young players of France competing at the Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires. The competition is scheduled to take place in the month of October. Mahrez Hands In Transfer Request

Leicester City forward Riyad Mahrez has handed in a transfer request to exit the club this January, according to reports. The Algeria international was subject to transfer saga involving a move to Arsenal but the move never did happen.

Manchester City, having failed to add an attacker in Alexis Sanchez last summer and in this winter window, have looked at signing Mahrez. The player is also keen to move to Manchester to feature under Coach Pep Guardiola. City Youngsters Must Earn Their Place

Pep Guardiola recently allowed Brahim Diaz and Phil Foden the chance to perform in a competitive match along with the first team of Manchester City. This occurred on November 21st during Manchester City’s Champions League match against Feyenoord as both promising youngsters who are results of the youth academy from the English outfit were substituted into that Champions League encounter during the final stages.

Guardiola Claims Manchester City Need to Be Warned about Napoli

Pep Guardiola has dismissed suggestions that the Champions League group for Manchester city is an easy one.


After having been paired up alongside some of the best teams in the world even at the group stages, City may be set for an easy ride after being involved in a group containing Feyenoord, Shakhtar Donetsk, and Napoli. However, Guardiola has downplayed expectations by claiming that all the teams have great pedigree when it comes to this competition, while Napoli are of the top three teams in European football at the moment.

Italian outfit Napoli had to reach this stage of the competition after negotiating a qualifier, as they could only finish third in the Italian Serie A last season. City also had a similar finish but in a much higher Premier league competition. City are the overwhelming favourites to reach the knockout stages from this group, but Guardiola knows that his team should be prepared for surprises.
