CAVANI LINKED TO REAL

The striker of Napoli, Edinson Cavani, might join Real Madrid at the end of this season.

A lot of other top clubs including Chelsea, Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain have also shown their interest in Cavani, but, according to the reports, the 26 years old Uruguayan striker wants to play in La Liga. So, he might prefer Madrid ahead of the other clubs.

Cavani has been in sensational form for Napoli in this season. He has found the net 25 times in the ongoing season so far and the kind of form he is in, he will score a lot more in the remaining matches of the season.

In one of his recent interviews, the manager of Manchester City, Roberto Mancini had clearly said that he liked Cavani’s game and he would love to bring him in City camp.

But, the news that Cavani wants to join Real Madrid would not make Mancini happy. Mancini is desperate to buy a top quality striker after the departure of Mario Balotelli during the mid season transfer window and Cavani was the first name on his list.

The club which would buy Cavani would have to pay a transfer fee of 52 million Pounds. A few days back, the president of Napoli, Aurelio De Laurentiis, had made it clear that Napoli would not let Cavani go at a transfer fee less than that.

Cavani had signed for Napoli in July 2010. Napoli had paid a transfer fee of 17 million Euros for buying him from Palermo.

Cavani has featured for Napoli in 92 matches so far and has found the back of the net 67 times. These numbers clearly tell that Cavani has performed amazingly well for Napoli in the last three seasons and because of that, he has drawn the attention of quite a few top clubs.
